Accessibility
Our target for this site is WCAG 2.2 Level AA. This page says what we have checked, what we have not, and how to tell us when something does not work for you.
Conformance target
Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, for every page on reliancecheck.com. We do not claim conformance. The checks below are automated and reviewed by the people who built the site. No test with assistive technology users has been done yet.
What has been checked
- Keyboard: every control is reachable with Tab, the skip link is the first tab stop, the Menu opens as a dialog and closes with Escape, and focus returns to the Menu button.
- Focus: a visible 3px ring in the navigation blue on every control, in light and dark appearance.
- Contrast: every text colour measures at least 4.5:1 against its surface in light and dark appearance. The measurements are run before each release.
- Reflow: every page renders at 320 CSS px wide with no sideways scrolling.
- Text size: no material text is below 14px; body text is 16px with 1.55 line height.
- Motion: smooth scrolling and transitions are removed when your system asks for reduced motion.
- Modes: light and dark appearance, and Windows forced-colours mode, were rendered and inspected.
- Structure: one heading outline per page, labelled landmarks, alternative text on the only image.
- Automated audit: axe-core reports no violations on any page at five widths in both appearances.
